The fine print
Plain-language terms for this site, the work I take on, and what happens to your information. Last updated October 30, 2026.
Terms of use
traclet.ca is the personal site of Eric Traclet, an independent consultant and artist in Vancouver, British Columbia. By using it you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Everything here, including the writing, photographs, film, music, artwork, code and the games and apps in the Lab, belongs to me unless it says otherwise, and is protected by copyright. You're welcome to view, listen, play and share links. Please don't copy, republish, sell or use the work to train AI models without asking first. Some footage is licensed separately through Shutterstock.
Names and logos of organizations on this site belong to their owners. They appear only to show who I've worked with or supported, and don't mean those organizations endorse this site.
Please don't try to break, overload or misuse the site, its contact form or the apps it hosts. I may block access that looks abusive.
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
Services
I offer IT consulting, advisory and project work, along with design, development, music, film and event production. The site describes that work in general terms only. Nothing on it is an offer, a quote or a contract.
Paid work starts once we've agreed the scope, timeline and fees in writing, whether that's a proposal, a statement of work or a contract. That written agreement is what governs the work, including confidentiality, ownership of what gets made, and liability, and it takes priority over anything on this site. Consulting work is now offered through North Rain Technologies.
Disclaimer
The site and everything on it is provided as is, for general information. I try to keep it accurate and current, but I don't guarantee that it's complete, error-free or always available.
Nothing here is legal, financial, security or professional advice for your situation. Please get advice that fits your circumstances before acting on anything you read.
The Lab's games, art and sketches are made for fun. They run in your browser and come with no warranty. Links to other sites are there for convenience, and I'm not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using this site or relying on what's on it.
Privacy
I collect as little as I can, and I don't sell or rent personal information to anyone.
When you use the contact form
The form sends me your name, email address, organization (if you add one) and your message. The site saves a copy with the time it was sent and your approximate country, as estimated by the hosting network, and emails it to me. I use it to read and reply to you, and for nothing else. I keep messages only as long as I need them for that conversation and my records, and you can ask me to delete yours at any time.
To stop spam, the site briefly records the network (IP) address a message came from and deletes it within an hour.
When you browse
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard technical information such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. I don't run advertising or tracking scripts, and I don't build profiles of visitors.
Embedded content
Some pages load content from other services, which then receive your IP address and may apply their own privacy policies and cookies:
- The Music page plays tracks through SoundCloud.
- Films on the Photo and film page play through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode once you press play, and film thumbnails load from YouTube.
- Apps in the Lab are hosted on other sites I own and run.
Your rights
I handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act. You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Just send a note through the contact page.
Cookies
traclet.ca doesn't set its own cookies and doesn't store anything in your browser. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell real visitors from bots. SoundCloud and YouTube may set their own cookies when you play something from them. You can block or clear cookies in your browser's settings, and the site still works without them, apart from embedded players.
Changes and contact
I may update these terms and policies from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Questions or requests go through the contact page.
